According to the report of Security firm Checkpoint Google's Play Store appears to have applications containing the newfound Judy malware. The firm discovered 41 Android apps and counting, developed by Korea-based Kiniwini and published under the name ENISTUDIO Corp. It's also found that the virus has been active in playstore since April of 2016, according to a report from Check Point. At the same time Google had already removed many infected apps from the Play Store after being notified by Checkpoint.
The US-based cyber security service in a blog post stated that the malware had already spread to 36.5 million (3.65 crore) users, making it potentially the most widely-spread malware yet found on Play store. Judy Malware is an 'auto-clicking adware. This basically implies programmers profit by making fake advertisement clicks after infecting android phones.
These malware affected applications regularly crossed the easygoing cooking and fashion game categories, under the "Judy" mark and most of the apps don’t even have English names. These apps don’t look malicious on the first look, and may even have millions of downloads and good reviews. If you need to check whether your android phone is infected by Judy, you can just check list of apps mentioned in the research blog post. While Google says that it has removed any application which contains the malware.
